"Bhutan has announced additional incentives and policy measures to boost its tourism sector,
introducing a 50 percent reduction on its tourism levy, known as the daily Sustainable Development
Fee (SDF). Bhutan’s commitment to high value, low volume tourism is underscored by its SDF, which is
now $100 per person, per night (down from $200 per person per night) & $40 one time VISA fee. The
new, lower levy will be in effect until September 2027."
Documents Required:
Passport (Should be minimum of 6 month Validity from the date of
Departure from Bhutan/Original Birth Certificate for Child below 18 yrs without Passport.
Upon arrival at Paro airport, our representative will pick you up and transfer to Thimphu. On the
way visit Iron Bridge built in the 14th century by the great iron bridge builder Thangthong
Gyalbo from Tibet. In Thimphu visit the Newly Built Buddha statue (51.5M Tall) which is
considered as one of the largest Sitting Buddha in the world, which overlooks the entire valley.
Visit Simply Bhutan, Simply Bhutan is a highly interactive “living Museum" that offers you an
excellent guided introduction to different aspects of the traditional Bhutanese life. As a visitor,
there is so much that you get to learn about when you visit this museum. For instance, you will get
to understand how to dress up in Bhutanese traditional clothes, how to distil ara (rice wine), and
you will even learn some of the classic songs that are sung by the Bhutanese young and old women
as they construct their beautiful homes out of rammed earthLater visit Authentic Craft Bazaar.
Evening visit Tashichhodzong-the capital fortress of the country. Dinner and overnight stay at
hotel.
Thimphu is the capital city of Bhutan and is known for its spectacular scenery and rich culture.
Thimphu city is the only city in the world without traffic signals.
After breakfast drive towards Punakha, the drive offers beautiful landscape. On the way stop
at Dochula pass at 3100m, if weather permits one can enjoy a spectacular view and take pictures
of some of the highest mountain peaks of Bhutan (Himalayan ranges) at a sight that stretches
almost 180 degrees. Walk around the newly built 108 stupas and continue your drive Upon
reaching Punakha we will Start a beautiful hike/walk through the paddy field for visiting Chimi
Lhakhang, the temple of fertility associated with the religious art of phallus. You will be taking
dozens of this related picture found at the entrance of most of the Bhutanese houses. Break for
Lunch.
visit Punakha Dzong which is considered as the most beautiful fortress in the country. You will
enjoy taking pictures at any angle all around the Dzong. Visit Punakha suspension Bridge, the
suspension bridge is almost 250m long which is located very much near to Punakha Dzong and is
the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan built above Po Chhu River. Evening Drive back to
Thimphu.
After early morning drive to the base camp of the temple to start your hike to Tiger’s Nest
temple complex (The must visit Place in Bhutan), the most revered temple in the country that
literally hangs on a granite cliff overlooking Paro valley. After a hike, one can also try Traditional
hot stone bath, water is heated by submerging red-hot stones into the bath in which we dip our
body and stay as long as we can, adding more hot stones when the water gets cold. This is also a
popular curative method for body pains and is used throughout the country. Evening stroll
around Paro town.
After Breakfast Transfer to airport for your departure flight. Our tour staff will bid you farewell at
the airport.
